My parents came from a country where poverty was and still is a harsh reality. So, unlike my peers, for whom food is often associated with pleasure & indulgence, for my parents, it was strictly seen as a necessity. I vividly remember being scolded for leaving even one grain of rice on my plate.
So you can imagine my dismay at seeing my friend one day throw out half a dozen perfectly fine-looking eggs in their carton! It wasnโt until after I moved out of home that I learnt eggs can go off ๐คฏ๐คฏ๐คฏ

On the outside, all eggs look fine. The only way to know if your egg has expired is to do the float test.
I must admit, when the egg floats, thereโs still a part of me that hesitates to throw it away. It could be ok. It mightn’t be that bad. If I cook it for longer or mix it with something, it may turn out fine. Ultimately, I have to face reality. It’s a rotten egg.ย
Just as a rotten egg can spoil a meal, a toxic team member can derail the progress of your business and infect the company culture. Conversely, surrounding yourself with individuals who embody integrity, dedication and competence, who align with your values and contribute positively to your team dynamics, can propel your business to new heights.
In essence, whilst itโs crucial to discern a good egg from a bad one for sustained success and growth, itโs equally important to surround ourselves with individuals who bring out the best in us.
Good eggs will make a tastier omelette, a fluffier meringue, and a smoother and creamier cake. So, letโs commit to nurturing the โgood eggsโ in our lives. Letโs make good cake ๐
